At Attikk we get dozens of items every week on consignment that go through a strict authentication process and price evalutation. Unfortunately around 20% of those turn out to be fakes and never go on sale at Attikk.

Recently we got a Gucci Marmont waist bag.
At a quick glance nothing stood out as all the main things where precent; dust bag, leather flap on the inside with the design code and the classic QR code on a white tag. But as the bag went through the authentication process it turned out to be a fake.

Luckily we recently got another real bag of the same type and with comparison a lot of discrepancies came to light.

Here you can see the leather logo tag on the bags. By comparing them it's quite obvious that the font and size is not as it should be. For example the stamp in the leather is too deep and the line height to small.

Design code of the bags tells the same story. Font and size, dept of the stamp and spacing between the numbers is not as it should be.

By comparing the QR codes you can see the the contrast of the code on the fake is not as readable as it should be.

Look on a whole and the craftsmanship is not obviously fake. But looking at the leather in comparison it's quite obvious the difference in quality. Also, the stitching is a little worse on the replica, but the most noticeable thing is where the quilting starts and ends.

The top stitching on the real bag reaches all the way to the top of the bag while on the fake that stitch starts rather low in comparison, or closer to the GG hardware on the front.

On this particular Marmont type from Gucci you can also find a stamp on the belt itself. Comparing those the difference is quite obvious although you wouldn't necessarily notice it if you didn't have a real one for comparison.

From this you can see that it's possible to buy a "Gucci" bag with all of the extras, stamps, tags and codes and still be a fake. We hope you are being careful and don't accept any information you are given although these qualities are present. At Attikk we have seen a lot of "good" fakes and even the ones that are called "Superfakes". The fake bags often even come with receipts, in branded bags and boxes.
